- Wicker Baskets- Merion Golf Club is famous for having wicker baskets top the pins instead of the usual flags, and they will be used in the US Open.

We are thrilled to celebrate Pink Boulevard as our store of the week!  Located at the crossroads of Kiawah Island and Seabrook Island, Pink Boulevard can be found in beautiful Freshfields Village on Johns Island, SC.

Pink Boulevard was opened by Kelsey Nichols in late Spring of 2007.  Kelsey has been a Lilly Lover her whole life, so much so that she wanted to open up a Lilly store of her own! Kelsey grew up with Lilly, wearing it when she was a Minnie, a teen, at Clemson University, and today! Similar to our Lilly print team, Kelsey is an artist herself! Artwork created by Kelsey is on display in the store.

Pink Boulevard’s location provides Resort vacationers and locals a place to shop.  Freshfields Village offers both shops and restaurants and has weekly Summer activities.  Customers can stop by the farmers market on Mondays, watch a movie on Wednesday nights or listen to bands on Friday evenings on the Village Green.

Hi Friends!

Believe it or not…in addition to designing and being a fabulous MOM…I read constantly. I come a from a big family of readers…we just tear through them and pass them on! When I am traveling I bring at least 2 books…scared that I could finish one and be BOOKLESS for a flight. Purgatory sounds like more fun.

Soooo, I have been reading some pretty racy things this summer. I will tell you all about them. In addition there are just STAPLE amazing summer reads. A little juicy. Maybe some glamorous people, in glamorous places, doing glamorous things. I love a little candy coated history…throw in a dash of chic-lit and your summer is complete. Here’s my list…and please, please, please tell me your fav’s, I will go get them!

Chic lit..

CLEARLY anything by Candace Bushnell. I just tore through The Carrie Diaries which I KNOW is for teens…but hey, buy it and share it with your babysitter. There is no age limit on this - fun for all!

History-ish…fiction but seems ‘real’. This is for all of you that loved The Help (which I adored…I grew-up in Georgia and related to a lot of the book, very good!)

The Kitchen House by Kathleen Grissom

Takes place 1800’s in the height of slavery. A glimpse into life on a plantation. Really good.

Adventure! We have that…

The White Rhino Hotel by Bartle Bull

I stole this from the amazon.com description:  Bull’s novel is a steamy adventure filled with lust, villains, heroes, and antiheroes. The plot focuses on an ensemble of colonists and natives as they struggle to survive in a Kenya opened up to British veterans in 1919. Most of the action centers around Anton Rider, a gypsy from England.

So let’s recap…steamy adventure, lust, a gypsy. AHHH. Sounds fabulous right! It is.

Travel…always fun to read a book that transports you. In this case to Provence, so lovely!

I have actually read all of his books and you should too, but start here. I just grabbed his latest The Vintage Caper and will let you know how it is.

You can ALWAYS throw in some classics, like Valley of the Dolls or ANYTHING by F. Scott Fitzgerald. I adore every book he wrote because they are soooo incredibly CHIC!

Hello Friends!

Sooo, here I am on the train again. It seems like just yesterday that I was on the train blogging about how COMPLETELY EXCITED I was for Memorial Day weekend. And now? It’s the 4th already. This is a perfect example of time flies when you are having fun. I DO NOT want the summer to go too fast. I just…am having the best time

You know when you have moments where you feel great, you are HAPPY and excited about everything the future will bring…I am in that moment. There is so much to look forward to!!!! I have been doing a lot of day dreaming while lying in the sun getting naughty sunburns (please don’t tell my dermatologist and if you have time SEND ME SUNSCREEN! I just can’t resist a little tan. SO BAD). Anyway, when you have the warmth of the sun, a little bikini, straw hat and the latest issue of US WEEKLY…you kind of zone in and out. HEAVEN. Honestly, it is when my best ideas come to me…are you reading Brad and Scott (Lilly owners) I need much, much, much, more time spacing out to US Weekly, promise it does wonders for the prints J hee hee.

I don’t know about you but this 4th is ALLLL about friends and family. Usually is right? My girls and I are headed to my Mom’s house on the Connecticut shore. All of my cousins have houses together - 22 houses of relatives right on the water…can you believe?!?

The house where I spent summers as a kid…I spent EVERY waking moment on those rocks finding crabs and catching minnows!

I remember my Mom circa 1978 is so TDF -her blonde hair, of course barefoot! A sign of summer. She was and is so gorgeous…

And then there was ME in my fav tiered summer dress. I WISH I had a picture of me in my Lilly jelly bean print bathing suit. And of course our family bff, I mean seriously - his outfit could be worn TODAY nothing beats Nantucket reds. Shows how good style is always…in style!

It is incredible to me that those pictures are 30 years old…we will be completely recreating THAT this weekend, in the exact same place. But Sabrina will be the one running around in a little tiered sundress and hopefully SHE will think I am as gorgeous as I thought my mom was. I am going to wear this…barefoot!

This weekend starts with a family cookout Saturday, so many cousins running around you won’t be able to count. All the kids in and out of the salty water all day, completely sandy. My cousin Teddy will take everyone out in the Boston Whaler. We are planning to teach my oldest Sabrina how to water-ski (she’s 8 now! Makes me want to cry that she is so big). My best friend Wendy is coming with her 2 toe-headed boys and we will all just play, play, play.

 I know there is always so much to do…life gets busy doesn’t it. The 4^th of July symbolizes so much to me. A time for everyone to gather and smile, see people that you haven’t seen in ages, and most importantly wave the red, white and blue flag. A time to remember how lucky we are.

 Sending you tons and tons of love from the train. Can’t wait for the festivities to start! Please light a sparkler for me.

BUT First, I must share some exciting personal news with you all that this afternoon- before I left for work, I received my very own Pandamonium Blazer!!!  I’m obsessed with this print and I encourage everyone if you haven’t done so already to get a hold of this limited edition print because it’s simply - amazing!

Okay, now that I’ve shared that with everyone (haha) back to my report!

The past week at the Pink Palace has been nonstop-every-minute because we had our Final Summer 2011 Design Meeting. That means all the department heads present everything for Summer 2011 to the  President and CEO of Lilly Pulitzer!  (In the fashion world you are always a year ahead -  trust me it still takes me awhile!) The beginning of the week I helped make the final tweaks for Accessories and Footwear - changing the color of the footbeds of our new embellished sandals from pink to gold. Then I worked with merchandising to get the final prices set for all the new merchandise and decided on the final color-ways for new Murfees (which are AMAZING!).

For the Final Design Meeting it’s important to make sure that the all the presentation boards from each department (Design, Accessories and Footwear, Merchandising, Print Studio) are perfect and updated with any new alterations. Additionally, we have the boards from the previous season cleaned-up so you can see the progression and development of the styles and silhouettes. Every day was so busy, but then came Wednesday the day before the final meeting! You could hear the constant humming of the printer and bustling of scissors and computers. There was also a very distinct smell throughout the office of crisp, warm paper and freshly brewed coffee! I have never seen so many presentation boards in my life! All day we were busy cutting out new silhouettes and labels for each of the boards, calculating lots of statistics and organizing the seemingly hundreds of boards. Before we knew it was pretty late in the evening… it’s safe to say that it was well past dinner time - haha!

While it was getting even later in the evening and we all could barely speak complete sentences, we sat down among the scattered piles of paper-cut-outs and stuffed our face with food, but before we could swallow our first bite we all - interns and department heads - broke out in laughter.  Despite all the hard-work and the late night it was A GREAT TIME and I would have not changed a thing!! Needless to say the meeting went smoothly and everyone is excited for Lilly’s upcoming seasons!! : ) Can’t wait for you all to see!!!

Have you heard me brag that I know Liz Lange?!?!?!?!? The genius who took the frump out of maternity dressing? Worship her. Well, it just so happens that many many years ago I met Liz’s sister…and her name is Jane. I make it a point to become friends with anyone named Jane because I think it is the best name ever. ANYWAY. Jane has an eye for style. Every time I see her, whether it be in NYC or a get-away to Sarasota, she is perfectly outfitted. Pulled together and chic, the best jewelry ever. She can give you the low down on everything STYLE…from where to get a dress made, how to incorporate a target find with a Prada dress…to the best place for a spray tan.

Because jane and liz = style…they decided to share the wealth. Stylish and generous - how lilly! They launched a site called shopafrolic that gives insider tips and exquisite fashion finds. Friends!!

I am on the train headed to NYC…on a very secret fashion mission that I will reveal to you…soon? Tbd.

Anyway, I had the best week last week, then the best weekend ever. Wanted to tell you all about it. I am typing on my blackberry and am going to ruin my manicure…but for you it’s worth it!
Soooo, did you know my fam is from Boston? I know, it’s confusing. Born in New Hampshire, lived in Augusta GA 2-12, shipped off to boarding school (yes I was a devil, am to this day and proud of it). Went to Groton outside Boston. Then to Rollins College in lovely Winter Park, FL. Then moved to NYC. Somewhere in there I had my Cotillion in Boston. Lived there and the Cape and New Hampshire most summers. Married in Boston. It is a part of me!!! PS: I completely recognize I was born under extremely lucky and fabulous stars and appreciate it!!!
Ok, enough of my histoire! I went to Boston last week for an event Thursday night. Walking down Newbury St I was overwhelmed with so many emotions:
A: this is the cutest city ever

B: everyone looks so chic

C: I need to go shopping immediately because Newbury St has it all!
My event was at In The Pink on Newbury St and it was really, really, really great. Jess, who has some fancy title I can’t remember, has this incredible knack to get aaaanyone who walks through that door into the most absolutely perfect outfit. I walked in wearing the new Bidi dress and she begged me to try on the Raquel Dress. I did, felt like a million dollars and switched outfits for the night!

Visit her if you are ever in question as to what to wear! Molly and Alyssa were also there greeting every single customer like family. That is so Lilly. Love In the Pink so much!!
I met so many wonderful lilly lovers and chatted, painted, ate cupcakes and drank champagne. Hello! And you are surprised I had a good time?!? This is my JOB. Here are some snaps:

This year I got the GLAM job of the check-out line. NO, that does not mean I get to work the registers. They know how I am with math so Emily in accounting won’t let me even touch a scanner. I manage all of the wonderful people with full shopping bags looking for a register. It gave me a chance to chat with shoppers to find out what they love and I got tons of great feedback. My biggest take away? Well, you know I am the eternal optimist, but my biggest take away is that I am the luckiest person ever. Lilly Pulitzer is an incredibly unique brand that attracts the NICEST people. The cutest shoppers ever. Polite. Smart! I am not just saying this. I spent 8 hours a day chatting and these are all facts

If you have not been, get your buns to the warehouse sale TODAY or TOMORROW. Ro deserves one thousand massages and hugs for all of the hard work she has done to get the sale to run so smoothly. PAT also deserves one thousand massages for taking such good care of us. BRAD AND SCOTT, are you reading?!?!? Get Ro and Pat gift certificates for a massage immediately. I will do it for you and put it on my company card. Hee Hee. They give me a company card! Have they lost their minds?!??!?! It’s Friday and I am not working the sale tomorrow. It is my daughter Tiki’s 6th birthday and we are going to have a HUUUUUGE backyard pool party. Wish me luck, it is going to be a doozey. Sending tons of love on this gorgeous Friday. Get to the sale. Hey!! I am Taylor Angino (THAT’S ME AND CARSON in that pic!) I am one of the summer interns here at the Lilly Pulitzer. I am assisting both the Production Development Team and the Accessories & Footwear Team. Lucky me, I also get to help out with fittings and with the Print Team when they need me. It’s a lot. It seems like everyone here does so much – I love it…am learning a ton every day.

So why am I here?  I LOVE and BELEIVE in the brand of Lilly. Throughout my life I have worn Lilly to every special occasion - whether it was giving the commencement speech at graduation or the first night of cotillion. We talk a lot about the emotional connection the brand has with you or me…all our customers, and I am the prime example.

This past week I went to the Devon Horse Show and took a couple pictures of people wearing Lilly - and needless to say there were LOTS of Lilly Lovers!! From little girls to sorority girls to women over 75 were all wearing LILLY at the Devon!! I also happened to run into the fashion man himself Carson Kressley. He was so nice and agreed to take a photo with me (he is wearing the pants that he helped designed from last summer!!) I have posted some pictures of me and some Lilly Lovers from the horse show down below. If you’re looking to brighten up your upcoming summer festivities, I am loving the Bowen Dress and Mckim Wedges for you ladies and I’m in LOVE with all the Peter Blazers and Capri Trunks for us guys!!
